About Winery
Domaine Castagnier in Morey-Saint-Denis traces its lineage back to Jules Séguin in the 19th century, with the estate passing through successive generations by marriage and sons-in-law before Guy Castagnier entered in 1975. Born in Algeria, Guy married into the Vadey family—who had managed the domaine after Albert Rameau and Gilbert Vadey—and began working the vineyards, continuing the family’s Burgundian tradition. For decades, the grapes were sold to négociants, but in 2004 Guy’s son Jérôme returned from a career as a trumpeter in the Republican Guard to take over, marking the fifth generation of stewardship. Since then, the wines have been bottled under the name Domaine Castagnier, with Jérôme emphasizing biodynamic practices and terroir-driven expressions from prestigious Côte de Nuits appellations such as Clos de Vougeot, Chambertin, and Morey-Saint-Denis.

About Winery
Caroline Morey established her own domaine in Chassagne-Montrachet in 2014, continuing her family’s long Burgundian winemaking tradition. Daughter of Jean-Marc Morey, she inherited 2.5 hectares of vineyards from him, later expanding with additional parcels in Santenay and Beaune to reach about 7 hectares. Married to Pierre-Yves Colin of Domaine Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, she shares vineyard resources with him but vinifies her wines independently, focusing on both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Her approach emphasizes minimal intervention, careful lees management, and aging in 350-liter barrels with limited new oak, producing refined, terroir-driven wines from premier sites such as Les Caillerets, Les Champs Gains, and Les Chaumées. Today, Domaine Caroline Morey is recognized for its elegant, precise expressions of Côte de Beaune terroirs.

About Winery
Bouchard Père et Fils, one of Burgundy’s oldest and most prestigious wine houses, was founded in 1731 in Beaune by Michel Bouchard, originally a cloth merchant who soon turned to wine trading. His son Joseph began acquiring vineyards in 1746, and by 1785 the firm adopted the name “Bouchard Père et Fils.” Over the centuries, the domaine expanded to become one of Burgundy’s largest landholders, now owning about 130 hectares, including 12 hectares of Grand Cru and 74 hectares of Premier Cru. In 1820, the family purchased the historic Château de Beaune, whose underground cellars still serve as an exceptional aging site. After remaining in family hands for over 250 years, the estate was sold in 1995 to Joseph Henriot, who modernized operations, and in 2022 it became part of Artémis Domaines, the wine group of François Pinault. Today, Bouchard Père et Fils continues to balance tradition and innovation, producing highly regarded wines that showcase Burgundy’s finest terroirs.

Domaine Boris Champy in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune traces its roots back to 1984, when Didier Montchovet founded the estate as Burgundy’s first Demeter-certified biodynamic domaine. Starting with just 0.5 hectares in Nantoux, Montchovet pioneered organic and biodynamic viticulture long before it became mainstream. In 2019, Boris Champy—an experienced winemaker with a background at prestigious estates—took over, bringing fresh energy and a vision to elevate the still underappreciated Hautes-Côtes region. Today, the domaine spans about 12 hectares across both the Hautes-Côtes and Côte de Beaune, producing terroir-driven wines that highlight altitude, microclimates, and sustainability, continuing its legacy as a leader in eco-friendly Burgundy winemaking.

The Boigelot family’s winemaking tradition in Burgundy dates back to 1918, when Jacques Boigelot’s grandfather settled in the village of Monthélie. Jacques later ran a small estate producing handcrafted wines, and in 1990 his son Eric founded Domaine Eric Boigelot, incorporating the family’s 6 hectares. Eric trained at the renowned Coche-Dury estate before expanding the domaine to nearly 25 acres across Monthélie, Meursault, Volnay, and Pommard. In 1998, the winery relocated to Meursault, and today Eric works alongside his son Charles, the fourth generation, who also trained at Coche-Dury and Paul Pillot. Jean-Yves Bizot revived his family’s small Vosne-Romanée domaine in 1995, transforming it into one of Burgundy’s most admired artisanal wineries. His grandfather had farmed the vineyards part-time, while his father, a pediatrician, rented them out rather than making wine. Dissatisfied with the style of Burgundy wines from the 1970s and 1980s, Bizot looked back to earlier generations for inspiration, emphasizing purity, terroir expression, and minimal intervention. Today, Domaine Bizot spans just 3.5 hectares, yet produces highly sought-after Pinot Noir noted for its subtlety, emotion, and experimental spirit, reflecting Bizot’s instinct-driven approach rather than adherence to convention.
