About Winery
Bouchard Aîné et Fils was founded in 1750 in Beaune, Burgundy, and has built its reputation over more than two centuries as one of the region’s great merchant-winemaker houses. The family’s roots go back to Michel Bouchard, who settled in Burgundy in 1731 and began trading fabrics before moving into wine brokerage. His son Joseph established the wine business formally, anchoring the Bouchard name in the Côte d’Or. From its cellars in the historic Hôtel du Conseiller du Roy, the house developed expertise in grape selection, winemaking, and ageing, becoming known for its pursuit of quality, authenticity, and prestige. Today, Bouchard Aîné et Fils continues to craft Burgundy wines—particularly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay—that reflect centuries of savoir-faire and tradition.
