Chateau Leoville Poyferre 2014 Chateau Leoville Poyferre

    1 in stock

Winemaker Notes Deep, bright colour. The nose is subtle and complex. It reveals notes of red fruit, spices, and liquorice upon swirling. The palate is fresh and intense. It is fruity and fleshy on the palate. The finish is supported by fine, racy tannins that are long and integrated, and beautiful volume in the mouth. 2014, a harmonious vintage.   About Winery With origins dating back to 1638, Léoville was the largest vineyard in the Médoc region at the time of the French Revolution. Léoville Poyferré springs from various divisions and successions in 1840. Its outstanding quality wines gained early recognition when it was ranked 2nd Growth in the 1855 classification. Château Léoville Poyferré was acquired in 1920 by the Cuvelier family. Château Léoville Poyferré was the Léoville that got left in the starting blocks in terms of reputation and in the quality of its wines. Léoville Poyferré has been owned by the Cuvelier family (who also own Château Le Crock) since 1921, yet it was not until the 1970s, when Didier Cuvelier took control at the château, that quality began to improve. In the last 20 years, Didier, with the assistance of Michel Rolland since 1995, has turned Léoville-Poyferré into one of StJulien's finest estates. Now up with the best of the St-Juliens but still selling at nonscary prices. Léoville Poyferré is classified as a 2ème Cru Classé

    1 in stock

PRE-ORDER About Winery Domaine des Malandes is a family-run estate in Chablis, founded in 1972 by Lyne Marchive, daughter of André Tremblay, who had assembled much of the vineyard land in the 1940s and 1950s. The name “Malandes,” meaning “bad land,” refers to stony ground once considered unsuitable for farming but ideal for vines. Over the decades, the domaine grew to 29 hectares, producing wines celebrated for their freshness and minerality, rooted in the Kimmeridgian soils of Chablis. In 2006, winemaking was entrusted to oenologist Guénolé Breteaudeau, whose precise style aligned with Marchive’s vision of terroir-driven Chablis. Winemaker Notes The 2014 Silverado Soda Creek Zinfandel from Napa Valley is noted for its dark fruit flavors of blackberry and black cherry, accompanied by undertones of white pepper, chocolate, and spice. It's described as a medium to full-bodied wine with a firm, silky texture, polished tannins, a persistent finish, and good balance. The 2014 vintage for Napa Valley is generally considered a superb one, meaning the wine is both complex and fresh.  About Winery Nestled in the hills on the North West side of the Stags Leap District, Silverado Vineyards Winery has been a favorite wine country destination and home to some of the Napa Valley’s most-recognized wines for almost forty years. In 1981, Ron and Diane Disney Miller and her mother, Lillian Disney, established Silverado Vineyards to make wines from the historic sites of the estate the family owns. The winery was named in honor of the Silverado Vineyard, one of the first four in Stags Leap District to plant Cabernet in the 1960s. The vineyard pays homage to the abandoned mining town at the top of the Valley which also inspired the name of the famous Silverado Trail where Silverado Vineyards and other iconic wineries of the Stags Leap District are situated. Silverado Vineyards owns five other storied vineyards across Napa Valley’s top AVAs: Miller Ranch, Mt. George, Soda Creek Ranch (Borreo), Firetree, and Vineburg. All of Silverado’s wines are estate-grown, produced and bottled. Winemaker Jon Emmerich is only the second lead winemaker in the history of Silverado Vineyards and celebrated his 30th vintage with the winery in 2020. Jon has grown Silverado’s reputation for quality and consistency along with his colleague Elena Franceschi, who has been Silverado’s associate winemaker for nearly 25 years. When Diane Miller passed away in 2013, Ron Miller became president of the Board of Directors of The Walt Disney Family Museum, and chairman of Silverado Vineyards until his passing in 2019. Diane and Ron’s children and grandchildren proudly continue to carry their family’s legacy forward as the owners of Silverado Vineyards.
