Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou is named after the beautiful, large stones found in its unique wine-growing terroir. This exceptional ecosystem produces fine, elegant, tasty wines with a long finish - in short, archetypical Saint-Julien wines.
Perched on an exceptional site with incomparable views over the Gironde estuary, in the center of a hundred-year-old park, Ducru-Beaucaillou is a majestic, Victorian-style castle, which has, over time, become one of the great symbols of the Médoc. Unusual for Bordeaux, it is built directly above the barrel cellars, enveloping its owners, who have lived here for over sixty years.
Today, the estate is managed by the company Jean Eugène Borie SA, which is owned by Mrs Borie, her daughter Sabine Coiffe and her son Bruno-Eugène, CEO since 2003, the third generation of the Borie family to head the estate. There are very close links between this estate and the five families who have been its successive owners.

Château Smith Haut Lafitte's history spans centuries, starting in 1365 with the Verrier Du Boscq family planting vines on a gravelly plateau named Lafitte. In the 18th century, the Scottish merchant George Smith acquired the property, adding his name and building the Carthusian monastery. Later, Lodi Duffour-Dubergier, Mayor of Bordeaux, elevated the estate to Grand Cru Exceptionnel status in 1842. The Louis Eschenauer company purchased the estate in 1958, and in 1990, Daniel and Florence Cathiard bought it, investing heavily in both the property and the wines.
At the end of the 18th century, the Archbishop of Bordeaux was dispossessed of his property. The papal vineyard became part of the public domain.
8 June 1937 was a dark day in the vineyard's history, when a violent hailstorm destroyed virtually the entirety of the estate. Two years later, Paul Montagne bought it and gradually brought it back to life. Thanks to his efforts, the vineyard returned to its former rank and stood up to the surge in urbanization. His descendents, Léo Montagne and Bernard Magrez, perpetuate this secular tradition so that Chateau Pape Clément wines continue to delight the wine-lovers of today and tomorrow.

The Noëllat family established Domaine Georges Noëllat in Vosne-Romanée in 1920, cultivating vineyards in some of Burgundy’s most prestigious appellations, including Vosne-Romanée, Échezeaux, Grands Échezeaux, and Clos de Vougeot. For decades, Georges Noëllat sold most of his production to négociants, keeping the domaine relatively low-profile compared to his cousin Charles Noëllat, whose holdings later became part of Domaine Leroy. In 2010, the estate entered a new era when Charles Van Canneyt, grandson of Alain Hudelot of Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat, took over management. Van Canneyt modernized the domaine, began bottling under its own label, and quickly gained recognition for producing refined, terroir-driven Pinot Noirs that balance elegance and power. Domaine Génot-Boulanger began in 1974 when Charles-Henri Génot and Marie Boulanger settled in Meursault, opposite the Château de Citeaux, and acquired their first vineyards in Mercurey. Over the next two decades, they expanded holdings into Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet, Volnay, Pommard, Beaune, and eventually into Puligny-Montrachet, Corton, Chambolle-Musigny, and Clos de Vougeot, building a diverse portfolio of terroirs. By 1998, their grandson François Delaby took over, continuing the family’s expansion and refinement of vineyard practices. In 2006, Aude Lavollée, the founders’ granddaughter, and her husband Guillaume became the new generation of custodians, with Guillaume stepping into winemaking in 2007. Today, Domaine Génot-Boulanger spans about 22 hectares across 30 appellations, producing wines that combine Burgundian tradition with modern precision, and is recognized as one of Meursault’s leading family estates.

Winemaker Notes
2018 was a dream growing season and harvest for Napa Valley. An abundance of rain in February was followed by continuous days of sunshine and mild temperatures that made for uniform vines and even cluster growth. With no major heat spikes to contend with, there was no need to rush through harvest. Cooler temperatures allowed us to pick when we wanted, without stress and under optimal conditions. The gift from Mother Nature translated to wines that not only have great concentration but also an amazing freshness.

A warm staff of well-trained wine educators, the postcard-worthy setting and the modern farm-style architecture of the winery on Napa Valley’s famous Highway 29, paired with beautiful wines was the intentional vision the Baggetts conceived when they toured the valley in 2005 searching for a property to purchase to open their first winery together. To create an estate comparable to the finest in the valley, the Baggetts took on the project in the same fashion that helped them achieve success in other fields — Robin as an attorney, grape grower and vintner in San Luis Obispo and Michelle as an international hotel interior designer later becoming a hospitality marketing and communication professional and branding whiz. Creating the brand name Alpha Omega in 2005 predestined their ambition to craft the ultimate winery experience from beginning to end. Today, Alpha Omega is honored that its estate is considered one of the top wineries in the region.
When it came to building its brand, Alpha Omega spared no expense. There were no limits for the starry-eyed vintners who aimed to bring their vision to fruition. Several months into negotiations for the property, Sir Peter Newton of Newton Vineyards suggested to the Baggetts that they talk to his winemaker and assistant winemaker about joining their new winery project. This team together had excelled at making award-winning wines for Newton Vineyards in Napa Valley and left to do the same for Alpha Omega.
The Baggetts’ relationships in the valley afforded them the opportunity to procure the best grapes from prized vineyards throughout the top AVAs of Napa Valley — most notably Thomas Vineyard in Rutherford, Beckstoffer To Kalon in Oakville, Beckstoffer Georges III in Rutherford, Beckstoffer Dr. Crane and Beckstoffer Las Piedras in St. Helena, Stagecoach in Atlas Peak, Drew Vineyard in Mount Veeder and Sunshine Valley in the Oak Knoll District.

Domaine Fourrier, located in Gevrey-Chambertin in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits, traces its origins back to the 1930s–40s when Fernand Pernot’s sister married into the Fourrier family, combining vineyard parcels including Griotte-Chambertin and Clos Saint-Jacques. For decades, wines were sold under the Pernot-Fourrier name and gained a strong reputation. In 1994, Jean-Marie Fourrier took over the domaine at just 23 years old, after formative experiences working with Henri Jayer in Vosne-Romanée and at Domaine Drouhin in Oregon. He inherited old-vine parcels planted between the 1930s and 1950s across Gevrey, Chambolle, Morey, and Vougeot, and transformed the estate into one of Burgundy’s most sought-after producers. His philosophy emphasizes minimal intervention: native yeast fermentations, limited new oak (never more than 20%), and abandoning herbicides in favor of sustainable viticulture, allowing the domaine’s storied terroirs to shine.
