About Winery
The Estate was founded in the late 17th Century. This period was known as the Grand Siecle, or "great century", in reference to Louis XIV's 1661 accession to the French throne. In 1689 Pierre Desmezures de Rauzan, an influential wine merchant and steward of the prestigious Latour and and Margaux estates, bought plots of vines close to the Latour estate to create Enclos Rauzan. These vines were part of his daughter Therese's dowry when she married Baron Jacques Pichon de Longueville in 1694, the year in which the Pichon Baron estate was founded. An illustrious estate, with an enduring reputation, was born. It remained in the same family for generations.
In 1850 the property was divided in two. Baron Raoul Pichon de Longueville's section became the Pichon Baron estate. The second section, belonging to his three sisters, became Pichon Comtesse. Baron Raoul was proud of his prestigious property, and in 1851 he commissioned the imposing chateau inspired by Renaissance architecture that we know today. This uniquely charming and romantic chateau, with its two emblematic turrets, has stood proudly at the vineyard's heart ever since. During the Universal Exhibition of 1855, the wine was classed as a Second Grand Cru Classe according to the ranking system requested by Emperor Napoleon III, who wished to showcase Bordeaux's great wines. In 1933, the Pichon de Longueville family sold the property to the Bouteiller family, who managed the chateau for over 50 years.
In 1987 the estate was bought by AXA Millesimes, whose aim is to enable great wines from the vineyards with a glorious past to achieve their full potential. An architectural competition was launched in collaboration with the Paris Pompidou Centre to provide the estate with new operational buildings. Domaine Michel Niellon, based in Chassagne-Montrachet, is a prestigious family-owned Burgundy producer established in the 1950s by Michel Niellon and his father, Marcel. The 2007 Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot Puligny-Montrachet is described as a concentrated and well-bred Chardonnay that exemplifies the vintage’s hallmark purity and minerality. Domaine Génot-Boulanger began in 1974 when Charles-Henri Génot and Marie Boulanger settled in Meursault, opposite the Château de Citeaux, and acquired their first vineyards in Mercurey. Over the next two decades, they expanded holdings into Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet, Volnay, Pommard, Beaune, and eventually into Puligny-Montrachet, Corton, Chambolle-Musigny, and Clos de Vougeot, building a diverse portfolio of terroirs. By 1998, their grandson François Delaby took over, continuing the family’s expansion and refinement of vineyard practices. In 2006, Aude Lavollée, the founders’ granddaughter, and her husband Guillaume became the new generation of custodians, with Guillaume stepping into winemaking in 2007. Today, Domaine Génot-Boulanger spans about 22 hectares across 30 appellations, producing wines that combine Burgundian tradition with modern precision, and is recognized as one of Meursault’s leading family estates.

Domaine Pierre Damoy, based in Gevrey-Chambertin in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits, was established in the early 20th century when Julien Damoy acquired vineyards in the region. Vega Sicilia is one of Spain’s most iconic and prestigious wineries, with a rich history dating back to 1864. Here's a brief overview:
Founded by Don Eloy Lecanda y Chaves, a Spanish winemaker trained in Bordeaux, who brought with him French grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. He planted these alongside the native Tempranillo (then called Tinto del País) in the Ribera del Duero region.
The winery gained fame in the 20th century for producing some of Spain’s most celebrated wines, especially its flagship wine, Único, known for its complexity and extraordinary aging potential.
In 1982, the Álvarez family acquired Vega Sicilia, marking a new era of modernization and expansion. Under Pablo Álvarez’s leadership, the winery has maintained its legendary status while also expanding into other regions like Toro (with Pintia) and Rioja.
Despite its name, Vega Sicilia has no connection to the island of Sicily. “Vega” refers to fertile river plains, and “Sicilia” is believed to reference Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of music.

Palate
The palate delights with its structure and complexity. Scents of blackberries, blackcurrant jelly, plum jam and cherries mingle harmoniously with vanilla, spice and grilled notes. Throughout the tasting the palate unveils subtle notes of freshly ground coffee, dried Mediterranean herbs and a delicious graphite hint at the finish.

Domaine Pavelot (Luc et Lise) is a seventh-generation family estate in Pernand-Vergelesses, Burgundy, run by siblings Luc and Lise Pavelot since the early 1990s.
The Pavelot family has been rooted in Pernand-Vergelesses for centuries, with successive generations cultivating vineyards around the village. Luc and Lise took over from their parents, Régis and Annie, continuing the legacy of their grandparents Maurice and Gladie. The domaine covers about 9–10 hectares, producing both red and white wines, and holds parcels in nearly all of Pernand’s premier crus, including Les Fichots, En Caradeux, Les Vergelesses, Ile des Vergelesses, and Sous Frétile. Luc began working at the estate in 1993, focusing on vineyard care, and in the early 2000s the siblings shifted toward organic farming, achieving certification in 2009. Their philosophy emphasizes respect for the land, biodiversity, and terroir expression, producing wines with purity, precision, and a strong sense of place that reflect Pernand-Vergelesses’ unique hillside terroirs.

The 2018 Domaine Marquis d’Angerville Pommard 1er Cru "Combes Dessus" is a full, firm, and generous wine that exemplifies the "Volnaysian" elegance of the estate despite its Pommard origins. According to winemaker Guillaume d’Angerville, the wine reflects a transition in style since its conversion to biodynamics, yielding a classic Pommard character with a more refined edge. On the nose, it offers a pretty and expressive bouquet of raspberries, poached plum, and raw cocoa, accented by delicate notes of orange rind, flowers, and whiffs of earthy underbrush.
