About Winery
Domaine Matrot is one of Burgundy’s historic family estates, rooted in Meursault since 1835, and today run by sisters Adèle and Elsa Matrot. The domaine began with Joseph Matrot and his wife Marguerite Amoignon, who settled in Meursault in 1914 and expanded the vineyards. Successive generations modernized and grew the estate, with Pierre Matrot taking over in 1937 and his son Thierry leading vinification from 1983. Since 2000, the domaine has embraced organic practices, and under Adèle and Elsa, it continues to produce terroir-driven wines that reflect the purity and elegance of the Côte de Beaune.

Founded in 1998, Domaine de la Vougeraie in Premeaux-Prissey is a modern Burgundy estate created by merging several Jean-Claude Boisset holdings, including Claudine Deschamps, Pierre Ponnelle, Louis Voilland, and L'Heritier-Guyot. Born in 1969 into a family of vignerons in Morey-Saint-Denis, Frédéric Magnien represents the fifth generation of the Magnien lineage. After working with his father Michel at Domaine Michel Magnien from 1987 to 1991, he broadened his horizons abroad, gaining experience at Josh Jensen’s Calera estate in California and Bannockburn Vineyards in Australia. Returning to Burgundy, he earned a diploma in oenology at Dijon before founding Maison Frédéric Magnien in 1995. His vision was to craft wines from carefully selected old-vine parcels (often over 40 years) in prestigious Côte de Nuits appellations, vinified with minimal intervention to highlight terroir purity. Over time, he embraced biodynamic viticulture, aligning vineyard work with lunar cycles and natural soil enrichment. The aromas are typical of a warm vintage. Black fruit mingles with notes of garrigue and pepper. The minty freshness holds the aromatic ensemble well. The attack is opulent. The power and density of the wine are remarkable, and the mouth lingers thanks to a rich and full tannin structure. The wine lengthens as it tightens to an impressive finish.

The present-day Cheval Blanc vineyards had vines at least as far back as the 18th century, as shown by Belleyme's map of the region dated 1764. Nearly a century later, the estate was acquired by the Fourcaud-Laussac family who owned it until 1998, when it was sold to Mr Bernard Arnault and Baron Albert Frère.
The vineyard is in a single block, and borders on the Pomerol appellation. An outstanding terror and unusual proportions of Cabernet Franc and Merlot give this great wine an absolutely unique flavor. Chateau Cheval Blanc has had a greater number of outstanding vintages than any other classified great growth over the past century.
Another unusual characteristic of Cheval Blanc is that once it reaches its peak, it maintains it for a very long time. This admirable wine is powerful, soft, rich, round and silky. It has tremendous fruit and elegance as well as exceptional quality from year to year.

The Noëllat family established Domaine Georges Noëllat in Vosne-Romanée in 1920, cultivating vineyards in some of Burgundy’s most prestigious appellations, including Vosne-Romanée, Échezeaux, Grands Échezeaux, and Clos de Vougeot. For decades, Georges Noëllat sold most of his production to négociants, keeping the domaine relatively low-profile compared to his cousin Charles Noëllat, whose holdings later became part of Domaine Leroy. Caves Duplessis (also known as Domaine Gérard Duplessis) is a historic family estate in Chablis, Burgundy, with five generations of winemaking tradition, now led by Lilian Duplessis. Founded in the late 19th century, the domaine remained small and artisanal, cultivating about 10 hectares of vineyards across Petit Chablis, Chablis, several Premier Crus, and the Grand Cru Les Clos. Originally managed by Gérard Duplessis, Lilian took over in 1999 and introduced organic practices, achieving certification in 2013.
