About Winery
The Mugnier family established their domaine in 1863 when Frédéric Mugnier, a successful liqueur merchant, acquired vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny, including the famed Clos de la Maréchale. For much of the 20th century, the estate’s holdings were leased out, and the family’s direct involvement in winemaking diminished. In 1985, Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, representing the fifth generation, returned to Burgundy and began reclaiming the family’s vineyards, gradually restoring the domaine’s reputation. By 2004, he had regained full control of Clos de la Maréchale, making the estate one of the largest in Chambolle-Musigny. Today, Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier spans about 14 hectares, including prestigious parcels in Musigny, Les Amoureuses, and Bonnes-Mares, and is celebrated worldwide for producing wines of purity, finesse, and longevity that epitomize Chambolle’s delicate yet profound style.

Domaine Robert Groffier is a family-run Burgundy estate whose roots trace back to the 19th century, when Frédéric Groffier began cultivating vines in the Côte de Nuits; the domaine was expanded in the 1930s by Robert Groffier, who secured some of Chambolle-Musigny’s most prized parcels, including Les Amoureuses, and today it is managed by his grandson Nicolas Groffier, who continues the tradition of producing elegant, terroir-driven wines from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards such as Bonnes Mares, Chambertin Clos de Bèze, and Chambolle-Musigny Les Sentiers, cementing the domaine’s reputation as one of Burgundy’s most respected producers.

About WineryChateau Pape Clément owes its name to its most illustrious owner. A man of the cloth born in 1264, Bertrand de Goth became Bishop of Comminges, in the Pyrenees Mountains, at the age of 31; he later became Archbishop of Bordeaux in 1299.
He then received as a gift the property in Pessac, the Vineyard de La Mothe. Taken by a passion for the vine, he continually took part personally in equipping, organizing and managing the domain in accordance with the most modern and rational practices. Nevertheless, on 5 June 1305 the cardinals met in a conclave in Pérouse and appointed him to succeed Pope Benedict XI, who had passed away prematurely after only eleven months of reign. Bertrand de Goth took the name of Clement V.
Supported by Philip IV, it was he who decided in 1309 to move the papal court to Avignon, thus breaking with Rome and its battles of influence. During this same period, the weight of his responsibilities led him to relinquish his property, giving it to the Archbishop of Bordeaux. Henceforward, the vineyard was to be known to posterity under the name of this enlightened pope.
Management under the clergy brings modernity The grateful Church perpetuated Pope Clement's work. Each archbishop in turn turned to modernity and technical progress, to the point of the wine estate becoming a model vineyard. In addition to especially early harvests, which remain one of its special characteristics, Chateau Pape Clément is without a doubt the first vineyard in France to align vine stock to facilitate labour.
At the end of the 18th century, the Archbishop of Bordeaux was dispossessed of his property. The papal vineyard became part of the public domain.
8 June 1937 was a dark day in the vineyard's history, when a violent hailstorm destroyed virtually the entirety of the estate. Two years later, Paul Montagne bought it and gradually brought it back to life. Thanks to his efforts, the vineyard returned to its former rank and stood up to the surge in urbanization. His descendents, Léo Montagne and Bernard Magrez, perpetuate this secular tradition so that Chateau Pape Clément wines continue to delight the wine-lovers of today and tomorrow.

The 2019 Marchand-Tawse (Pascal Marchand) Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Fuées" is a highly concentrated and energetic wine that reflects the solar warmth of the 2019 vintage while maintaining the elegant, "feminine" character typical of its terroir.

Founded in 2011 by Québécois winemaker Pascal Marchand and Ontario winery owner Moray Tawse, Marchand & Tawse is a Beaune-based producer specializing in biodynamically farmed Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The collaboration blends top-tier negociant sourcing with estate holdings, notably after acquiring Domaine Maume in 2012, to produce refined, expressive Burgundy.

The 2017 Maison M. Chapoutier Ermitage “Le Méal” Rouge Bio is a standout Syrah from one of Hermitage Hill’s earliest-ripening parcels. It opens with fresh, lively aromas of crème de framboise, blueberry, and baking spices, accented by touches of vanilla. On the palate, it is generous, silky, and seductive, with glossy black fruit and supple tannins that give it both richness and elegance. James Suckling highlighted its youthful energy, noting flavors of loganberry, black currant, and black cherry, framed by bramble, bay leaf, violet, and earthy notes. Critics praised its balance of power and finesse, with Robert Parker awarding it a perfect 100 points, underscoring its exceptional quality and long aging potential.

Maison M. Chapoutier is one of the most historic and influential wineries in France’s Rhône Valley, based in Tain-l’Hermitage. The family’s roots in the region trace back to 1808, when the company was first established under the name Calvet et Compagnie. In 1879, Polydor Chapoutier purchased vineyards in Hermitage, marking the true beginning of the Chapoutier wine legacy. By the late 19th century, Marius Chapoutier expanded the business, and in the 20th century, leadership passed through successive generations, including Max Chapoutier. The most transformative era began in the 1990s under Michel Chapoutier, who introduced biodynamic viticulture, a philosophy emphasizing harmony between soil, plants, and environment. Michel also made Chapoutier’s wines globally recognizable by adding Braille labels in 1996, honoring inclusivity. Today, Chapoutier is celebrated for producing some of the Rhône’s most iconic wines, particularly from Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, while remaining a pioneer in biodynamic winemaking.

The Jayer family’s winemaking tradition in Vosne-Romanée dates back to the early 20th century, with Georges Jayer establishing his own domaine alongside his brother Henri. Founded in 1942 by Joseph Arlaud and Renée Amiot, Domaine Arlaud in Morey-Saint-Denis, Burgundy, is a 15-hectare family estate known for organic/biodynamic, low-intervention Pinot Noir. The Domaine, now led by Cyprien Arlaud (since 2013), produces esteemed Grand Crus, including Charmes-Chambertin, often characterized by silky tannins and elegant red fruit.
Winemaker Notes
The 2023 Alpha Omega Chardonnay is straw yellow with hints of gold. Youthful aromas of golden delicious apple and stone fruit, accent notes of white flower, toasted cereal grains, French toast, honey and phyllo dough. An exciting core of melon, kumquat and lemon custard fruit mix with hints of hazelnut, nutmeg, maple candy and stony minerality.
After whole cluster pressing, the Chardonnay Napa Valley 2021was barrel fermented in 100% French oak, 33% new barrels. Partial malolactic fermentation provides a richer and fuller aspect to the wine that was then aged in the same barrel composition for 19 months with periodic stirring of the lees. To soften the impact of oak and preserve freshness, the winemakers selected larger puncheons for 30% of the barrels.

A warm staff of well-trained wine educators, the postcard-worthy setting and the modern farm-style architecture of the winery on Napa Valley’s famous Highway 29, paired with beautiful wines was the intentional vision the Baggetts conceived when they toured the valley in 2005 searching for a property to purchase to open their first winery together. To create an estate comparable to the finest in the valley, the Baggetts took on the project in the same fashion that helped them achieve success in other fields — Robin as an attorney, grape grower and vintner in San Luis Obispo and Michelle as an international hotel interior designer later becoming a hospitality marketing and communication professional and branding whiz. Creating the brand name Alpha Omega in 2005 predestined their ambition to craft the ultimate winery experience from beginning to end. Today, Alpha Omega is honored that its estate is considered one of the top wineries in the region.
When it came to building its brand, Alpha Omega spared no expense. There were no limits for the starry-eyed vintners who aimed to bring their vision to fruition. Several months into negotiations for the property, Sir Peter Newton of Newton Vineyards suggested to the Baggetts that they talk to his winemaker and assistant winemaker about joining their new winery project. This team together had excelled at making award-winning wines for Newton Vineyards in Napa Valley and left to do the same for Alpha Omega.
The Baggetts’ relationships in the valley afforded them the opportunity to procure the best grapes from prized vineyards throughout the top AVAs of Napa Valley — most notably Thomas Vineyard in Rutherford, Beckstoffer To Kalon in Oakville, Beckstoffer Georges III in Rutherford, Beckstoffer Dr. Crane and Beckstoffer Las Piedras in St. Helena, Stagecoach in Atlas Peak, Drew Vineyard in Mount Veeder and Sunshine Valley in the Oak Knoll District.
