Pavillon Blanc Du Chateau Margaux

Description

PRE-ORDER

2012 | WE 93

A difficult wet summer was followed by a dry, favorable harvest period, leading to a refined and elegant style rather than a highly concentrated one.

2013 | WE 93

Dry, full-bodied, with vibrant acidity and intense citrus (grapefruit, lemon zest) combined with notes of pear and white flowers.

2014 | JS 97

Described as having "incredible depth of fruit" with an "energetic" palate.

2016 | JS 97

The 2016 vintage is described as having "amazing energy," combining opulent fruit with a lively, acidic, and mineral backbone. It is known for its incredible aging potential, often needing a few years to fully open up. The 2016 is widely recognized as a "winner" among recent vintages.

2017 | D 99

Intense flavors of citrus, green pear, white peach, and crushed stone, balanced with a creamy, textured mouthfeel.

2020 | JS 100

Intense aromas of lemongrass, white peach, honeysuckle, and nectarine. It is lauded for its "racy," "pure," and "charming" profile with a "salty minerality".

2022 | JS 99

The 2022 shows intense, ripe flavors of green mango, pineapple, passionfruit, and white peach, combined with citrus, smoked cream, and brilliant acidity despite the hot vintage.

About Winery

Chateau Margaux, a Premier Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux, is one of the most famous wines in the world. Care has been lavished on the property by a line of owners with an abiding concern for the reputation of the estate.

For more than five hundred years, season after season, generations of vineyard-workers, grapeharvesters, cellar-workers, coopers and many other craftsmen have all played a part in making Chateau Margaux what it is today: a wine with an incomparable personality, reflected in the elegant Palladian building which adorns its label. In 1977, the estate was purchased by the late André Mentzelopoulos, and it is now run by his daughter, Corinne Mentzelopoulos.
