Chateau Cantemerle

Description

PRE-ORDER

2018 | WE 94

Well-constructed... ripe with black fruits and integrated tannins

2020 | D 93

Rich black fruits, plums, pencil shavings, violet, and forest floor, with powdery tannins and a savory, fresh finish.

2021 | D 91

The 2021 vintage produced a cooler, "old-school" style of Bordeaux, which in the case of Cantemerle (a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot) resulted in a savory, aromatic wine. It is noted for its high acidity and refined tannins.

About Winery

Château Cantemerle's story is a blend of historical events, family legacy, and the enduring allure of Bordeaux wines. The property, a Fifth Growth in Haut-Médoc, has a rich history stretching back to the Middle Ages. It began as part of a defensive fortification line, later evolving into a vineyard with ties to the Pons de Cantemerle family.
