About Winery
Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet is a family estate with roots going back to the late 18th century in Fixin, Burgundy, and today spans seven generations of winemaking tradition. The domaine began with François Berthaut’s father acquiring a few hectares in Fixin, later expanded under Guy Berthaut in the 1930s, who pioneered bottling and exporting wines to the United States. His sons Vincent and Denis continued the growth through the 1970s, adding vineyards and building a modern cellar. In 2013, Denis’s daughter Amélie Berthaut, after completing her oenology studies, merged part of the family’s Gerbet vineyards in Vosne-Romanée with the Berthaut estate, creating Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet. Since then, Amélie, joined by her husband Nicolas Faure in 2017, has overseen the domaine’s 18 hectares across Fixin, Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, and Flagey-Echezeaux, producing wines that combine traditional Burgundy character with contemporary precision.
