About Winery
Domaine Claude Dugat, based in Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy, has family roots in the region dating back to the 19th century. The modern incarnation of the domaine began in 1991, when Claude Dugat officially took control of the family estate, which had been established by his father Maurice in 1955 after purchasing the historic Grange des Dîmes, a stone barn dating back to 1219 that once served as a tithe barn for the church. Claude, together with his wife Marie-Thérèse, brought the domaine into international prominence with meticulous vineyard care and restrained winemaking that emphasized purity of fruit and terroir. Over time, his children—Bertrand, Laetitia, and Jeanne—joined him, gradually taking over operations while introducing organic and biodynamic farming practices. Today, Domaine Claude Dugat is celebrated worldwide for its small-production, highly sought-after wines from Gevrey-Chambertin, crafted with minimal intervention and a focus on elegance and authenticity.
