About Winery

The Rossignol family has deep winemaking roots in Burgundy, dating back to 1634 in the Côte de Beaune, where generations cultivated vineyards and produced wine for over two centuries. One notable modern branch is Domaine Nicolas Rossignol, founded in 1997 in Volnay by Nicolas Rossignol, a fifth-generation vintner who expanded the estate to about 16 hectares by 1998 and later consolidated it under the single label “Domaine Nicolas Rossignol” in 2011, covering 30 appellations across Volnay, Pommard, Beaune, Aloxe-Corton, and Savigny-lès-Beaune. Another branch, Domaine Rossignol-Trapet, was established in 1990 by brothers Nicolas and David Rossignol, combining the heritage of the Rossignol family of Volnay with the Trapet family of Gevrey-Chambertin, and is now renowned for its biodynamic practices across 13 hectares in the Côte de Nuits. Together, these domaines reflect the Rossignol family’s centuries-long tradition of Burgundy winemaking, blending heritage with modern innovation.
