The estate, originally named Fazilleau, was later renamed L'Évangile by a lawyer named Isambert. In 1862, it was acquired by the Ducasse family, who significantly raised its profile. In 1990, Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) purchased the estate, investing heavily in its vineyards and winemaking facilities.
