About Winery
Raised in Gevrey-Chambertin with deep family roots in winemaking, Jean-Marie Fourrier studied oenology at the University of Dijon and apprenticed with legendary Henri Jayer, as well as working at Domaine Drouhin in Oregon and wineries in California and Australia. When he inherited the domaine in 1994, he brought a philosophy of minimal intervention and respect for terroir, abandoning herbicides, relying on native yeasts, and limiting new oak to under 20%. The estate’s holdings include prized old-vine parcels in Gevrey, Chambolle, Morey, and Vougeot, many planted between the 1930s and 1950s, which give his wines remarkable depth and character. Fourrier’s approach emphasizes purity, balance, and drinkability—his belief being that the best wine is the one enjoyed and finished at the table. Gevrey-Chambertin is a wine with a beautiful, bright ruby color. Intensely fruity on the nose, the aromas are reminiscent of black cherry, wild blackberry and licorice. The woody character is subtle and marries delicately with the other aromas. As the wine evolves, there are more complex notes, such as mild spice, nutmeg and leather. Later still, mushroom and damp earth nuances make their appearance. Although present on the palate, tannin is never astringent but blends itself harmoniously with the natural freshness and "gras" (velvety texture) of the wine. The same aromas encountered earlier on the nose are found again in the aftertaste.

Winemaker Notes
A refined bouquet of black cherry, red plum, and dark currant, accented by notes of rose, earth, and a distinct sauvage or "farmyard" character. The palate is noted as being one of the "fleshiest and most corpulent" versions of Clos Vougeot, featuring a medium-bodied yet succulent entry with firm, youthfully austere tannins and a mineral streak.

Domaine Michel Gros's Clos de Vougeot "Le Grand Maupertuis" is a, prestigious 0.2-hectare Grand Cru parcel located in the top section of the Clos near Grands Échezeaux. Acquired by Jean Gros in 1967 for his son Michel, the vines were replanted in 1987 after a severe frost. It is known for producing elegant, silky, and deeply structured Pinot Noir, with Pierre Gros taking over in 2019.

Château Minuty was founded in 1936 by Gabriel Farnet in Gassin, on the Saint-Tropez peninsula, and quickly became one of Provence’s most respected rosé producers. In 1955, it was awarded the prestigious Cru Classé des Côtes de Provence designation, a recognition given to only 23 estates. The winery has remained family-run, with the Farnet-Matton family continuing its legacy of hand-harvesting and sustainable viticulture. Over the decades, Minuty built a reputation for crafting elegant, sun-soaked rosés that embody the Mediterranean lifestyle, and in 2023, luxury group LVMH acquired a majority stake, further elevating Minuty’s global profile as a benchmark for premium Provençal rosé.

About Winery
The roots of Domaine Michel Niellon go back to 1957, when Michel began working alongside his father Marcel in Chassagne-Montrachet. Over the decades, he built a reputation for crafting rich, expressive white Burgundies, introducing estate bottling in the 1960s and expanding vineyard holdings to include prestigious parcels such as Clos Saint-Jean, Les Vergers, and Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru. From an initial 4 hectares, the domaine grew to about 7.5 hectares, two-thirds planted with Chardonnay and the rest with Pinot Noir. Michel’s daughter Françoise and her husband Michel Coutoux later joined, ensuring continuity, and today their children Mathieu and Lucie represent the new generation. Following Michel Niellon’s passing in 2020, the domaine continues to thrive under Coutoux’s guidance, producing wines that balance tradition with modern precision. Known for their whole-bunch pressing, restrained use of new oak (20–25%), and terroir-driven style, Niellon’s wines remain among the most respected in Chassagne-Montrachet and beyond.
