About Winery
Château Pédesclaux, located in Pauillac, Bordeaux, was established in 1810 by wine broker Pierre Urbain Pédesclaux. It quickly gained recognition, earning a Fifth Growth classification in the 1855 Medoc classification. The estate has seen several owners, including the Lorenzetti family since 2009, who have invested in significant renovations, including a state-of-the-art winery.

Vega Sicilia is one of Spain’s most iconic and prestigious wineries, with a rich history dating back to 1864. Here's a brief overview:
Founded by Don Eloy Lecanda y Chaves, a Spanish winemaker trained in Bordeaux, who brought with him French grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. He planted these alongside the native Tempranillo (then called Tinto del País) in the Ribera del Duero region.
The winery gained fame in the 20th century for producing some of Spain’s most celebrated wines, especially its flagship wine, Único, known for its complexity and extraordinary aging potential.
In 1982, the Álvarez family acquired Vega Sicilia, marking a new era of modernization and expansion. Under Pablo Álvarez’s leadership, the winery has maintained its legendary status while also expanding into other regions like Toro (with Pintia) and Rioja.
Despite its name, Vega Sicilia has no connection to the island of Sicily. “Vega” refers to fertile river plains, and “Sicilia” is believed to reference Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of music.
Tasting Notes
The 2018 Tempos Vega Sicilia Valbuena 5° is a refined and expressive red wine from Ribera del Duero, crafted primarily from 96% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) and 4% Merlot. It presents a deep ruby red color and an intense, complex, and seductive nose with aromas of floral notes, cassis, spice, pepper, and vanilla. On the palate, it is round, fresh, and elegant, with medium tannins, high acidity, and a silky texture. The wine is full-bodied, harmonious, and well-integrated, offering flavors of earth, balsamic, toasty oak, and new wood, finishing with a long, lingering, and flavorful aftertaste

The origins of Domaine Roulot date back to 1830, when Guillaume Roulot established the family estate in Meursault. The domaine gained prominence under Guy Roulot, who expanded vineyard holdings and introduced parcel-by-parcel bottling, a practice that highlighted the individuality of Meursault’s lieux-dits. Guy’s sudden death in 1982 left the domaine in transition, with interim winemaking by Ted Lemon and Franck Grux until Jean-Marc Roulot—originally pursuing a career in acting—took over in 1989. Since then, Jean-Marc has transformed the domaine into one of Burgundy’s most admired producers, farming 16 hectares of vineyards organically and crafting wines from premier crus such as Meursault Charmes, Les Perrières, and Les Genevrières, as well as village and Bourgogne-level parcels. Domaine Roulot’s wines are renowned for their precision, minerality, and longevity, consistently ranking among the finest expressions of Chardonnay worldwide.

Domaine Arnaud Ente’s history is rooted in family ties and chance opportunities: born in 1966 in the Côte de Beaune to a family originally from northern France, Arnaud was introduced to winemaking when his father married into the Puligny-Montrachet vintner family of Camille David. After initially pursuing science and physiotherapy, Arnaud shifted to viticulture following his military service and marriage in 1991 to Marie-Odile Thévenot, daughter of a Meursault vigneron. In 1990, he accepted his father-in-law’s offer of 3.5 hectares of vineyards, establishing his domaine in Meursault. His early wines in the 1990s were known for opulence and late picking, but since the 2000s he has become renowned for earlier harvests that emphasize acidity, minerality, and precision. Today, Domaine Arnaud Ente is considered one of Burgundy’s most elite small producers, with his son Pierre now joining the estate to oversee red wine production.

Domaine Coche-Dury, based in Meursault, Burgundy, is one of the most revered producers of white Burgundy. The estate was founded in the 1920s by Léon Coche, who purchased vineyard plots and initially sold grapes to négociants while bottling a small amount himself. In 1964, his son Georges Coche took over his share of the vineyards, expanding holdings and strengthening the domaine. Georges’s son Jean-François Coche assumed control in 1973, and with his wife (whose surname, Dury, was added to the domaine’s name), he transformed Coche-Dury into a cult estate. Known for meticulous vineyard work, low yields, and precise winemaking, Jean-François elevated the domaine’s reputation to global acclaim, especially for its Chardonnay from Meursault, Corton-Charlemagne, and other Côte de Beaune sites. In 1999, the domaine suffered a notable setback when a helicopter crash damaged part of its Corton-Charlemagne vines, but it continued to thrive. Today, Jean-François’s son Raphaël Coche has joined the estate, ensuring continuity of its legendary style and status as one of Burgundy’s most sought-after producers.
Winemaker Notes
The 2021 Alpha Omega Chardonnay is straw yellow with hints of gold. Youthful aromas of golden delicious apple and stone fruit, accent notes of white flower, toasted cereal grains, French toast, honey and phyllo dough. An exciting core of melon, kumquat and lemon custard fruit mix with hints of hazelnut, nutmeg, maple candy and stony minerality.
After whole cluster pressing, the Chardonnay Napa Valley 2021was barrel fermented in 100% French oak, 33% new barrels. Partial malolactic fermentation provides a richer and fuller aspect to the wine that was then aged in the same barrel composition for 19 months with periodic stirring of the lees. To soften the impact of oak and preserve freshness, the winemakers selected larger puncheons for 30% of the barrels.

A warm staff of well-trained wine educators, the postcard-worthy setting and the modern farm-style architecture of the winery on Napa Valley’s famous Highway 29, paired with beautiful wines was the intentional vision the Baggetts conceived when they toured the valley in 2005 searching for a property to purchase to open their first winery together. To create an estate comparable to the finest in the valley, the Baggetts took on the project in the same fashion that helped them achieve success in other fields — Robin as an attorney, grape grower and vintner in San Luis Obispo and Michelle as an international hotel interior designer later becoming a hospitality marketing and communication professional and branding whiz. Creating the brand name Alpha Omega in 2005 predestined their ambition to craft the ultimate winery experience from beginning to end. Today, Alpha Omega is honored that its estate is considered one of the top wineries in the region.
When it came to building its brand, Alpha Omega spared no expense. There were no limits for the starry-eyed vintners who aimed to bring their vision to fruition. Several months into negotiations for the property, Sir Peter Newton of Newton Vineyards suggested to the Baggetts that they talk to his winemaker and assistant winemaker about joining their new winery project. This team together had excelled at making award-winning wines for Newton Vineyards in Napa Valley and left to do the same for Alpha Omega.
The Baggetts’ relationships in the valley afforded them the opportunity to procure the best grapes from prized vineyards throughout the top AVAs of Napa Valley — most notably Thomas Vineyard in Rutherford, Beckstoffer To Kalon in Oakville, Beckstoffer Georges III in Rutherford, Beckstoffer Dr. Crane and Beckstoffer Las Piedras in St. Helena, Stagecoach in Atlas Peak, Drew Vineyard in Mount Veeder and Sunshine Valley in the Oak Knoll District.

Domaine Méo-Camuzet is a renowned Burgundy estate based in Vosne-Romanée, with origins dating back to the early 17th century through the Méo family’s involvement in viticulture and cooperage. The domaine’s modern identity was shaped by Étienne Camuzet, a politician and winegrower who owned prime parcels such as Clos de Vougeot and entrusted vineyard work to sharecroppers, including the legendary Henri Jayer. The Mugnier family established their domaine in 1863 when Frédéric Mugnier, a successful liqueur merchant, acquired vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny, including the famed Clos de la Maréchale. For much of the 20th century, the estate’s holdings were leased out, and the family’s direct involvement in winemaking diminished. In 1985, Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, representing the fifth generation, returned to Burgundy and began reclaiming the family’s vineyards, gradually restoring the domaine’s reputation. By 2004, he had regained full control of Clos de la Maréchale, making the estate one of the largest in Chambolle-Musigny. The 2022 Fournier Père & Fils Sancerre “Clos du Roc” Blanc A.O.P. is a single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc from one of the most historic and striking terroirs in Sancerre. The vineyard, once part of the ancient Saint-Satur Abbey (dating back to the 15th century), lies on a steep, south-facing slope with flinty soils that impart distinctive minerality and precision. Protected from cold winds by the Bois de Charne forest, the vines receive maximum sunlight, producing grapes of exceptional ripeness and aromatic intensity. The wine itself shows vibrant aromas of pear, apple, and apricot, layered with flinty, smoky notes. On the palate, it is dry, crisp, and powerful yet elegant, balancing ripe orchard fruit with lively acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish. This cuvée exemplifies Fournier’s philosophy of highlighting exceptional single plots, offering both immediate pleasure and strong aging potential.

Domaine Fournier Père et Fils has been a cornerstone of the Sancerre appellation since its founding in 1926 in Verdigny, at the heart of the Loire Valley.
