Château Rauzan-Gassies has a history dating back to the 17th century, originating from the larger Rauzan estate. In 1763, the estate was divided, leading to the creation of Rauzan-Gassies. It was classified as a Second Growth (Deuxième Grand Cru) in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. The Quié family acquired the estate in 1946 and has been instrumental in its modern development.
