Winemaker Notes
The Armand de Brignac Brut Gold (Ace of Spades) opens with vibrant aromas of peach, apricot, and red berries, layered with crystallized citrus, orange zest, and subtle brioche. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, offering flavors of ripe cherries, exotic fruits, vanilla, and honey, balanced by a creamy texture and fine bubbles. The wine’s complexity is enhanced by notes of toast and pastry from extended lees aging, while the finish is long, smooth, and elegant, with a touch of minerality and oak-aged depth that underscores its luxurious style.
About Winery
Armand de Brignac, also known as “Ace of Spades,” is a French luxury champagne brand originally registered by Champagne Cattier in the 1950s, but it remained obscure until its relaunch in 2006 as a prestige cuvée. Produced in Chigny-les-Roses by the Cattier family, who have cultivated vineyards since 1763, the brand gained global fame when rapper Jay-Z embraced it following a dispute with Cristal Champagne and later acquired it outright in 2014. In 2021, Jay-Z sold a 50% stake to LVMH, cementing Armand de Brignac’s position as a symbol of exclusivity and modern luxury, with its iconic metallic bottles and multi-vintage blends.
