About Winery

Château de Marsannay, located just south of Dijon in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits, is one of the region’s historic estates with roots dating back to the 16th century, when the original château was destroyed by the Swiss army and later rebuilt. The estate is unique in Burgundy for producing all three wine colors—red, white, and rosé—and is the only domaine in Côte-d’Or with a rosé appellation. Today, it owns about 28 hectares of vineyards across prestigious climats, including Chambertin, Ruchottes-Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot, Echezeaux, Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Bel-Air, Champeaux, and Vosne-Romanée En Orveaux. In 2012, the Halley family acquired the estate, revitalizing its vineyards and cellars while emphasizing agroecology and terroir-driven winemaking. Château de Marsannay also manages vines owned by the Hospices de Dijon, making it a key player in both Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. Today, it is recognized as a dynamic estate blending centuries of tradition with modern sustainability practices.
