About Winery
Domaine A. et P. de Villaine was founded in 1971 by Aubert de Villaine, co-director of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, and his American wife Pamela, who settled in Bouzeron in Burgundy’s Côte Chalonnaise. Seeking a more modest and personal project apart from DRC, they built the domaine around Bouzeron’s unique terroir, particularly championing the Aligoté grape. The estate began converting to organic farming in 1986 and achieved certification in 1997, reflecting Aubert’s commitment to sustainability. In 2000, Aubert’s nephew Pierre de Benoist took over management, continuing the tradition of producing elegant, terroir-driven wines that highlight Bouzeron’s distinct character.
