2021 | Vivino 4.3 Blue fruits, wild blueberry, black plum, graphite, mocha, and dried thyme. Medium-bodied, fine-grain tannins, and a long, fresh finish   About Winery Le Pich is the sister label of Purlieu Wines in Napa Valley, founded by winemaker Julien Fayard, and its name comes from the Wappo Indian word for “golden eagle.” Le Pich Wines was created as a more approachable counterpart to Purlieu, while still showcasing the same meticulous vineyard sourcing and winemaking expertise. Julien Fayard, originally from France, honed his craft at prestigious estates such as Château Lafite-Rothschild and Smith Haut Lafitte before moving to Napa Valley in 2006. After working at Quintessa and spending five years as Director of Winemaking at Atelier Melka, he launched Purlieu and later Le Pich to highlight Napa’s diverse terroirs with wines that balance power and elegance. The golden eagle symbolism reflects the grace and strength of the wines, often seen soaring above the vineyards. Today, Le Pich is recognized as one of Napa Valley’s best values, offering high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon that embodies both tradition and innovation.

    Marcassin Marcassin Pinot Noir

1998 | WA 97 t offers up notes of raspberry jam, Asian plum sauce, blackberries and smoked game in an incredibly complex, nuanced style. While not unctuous in texture, it is rich, round, savory, complex and deep. 2000 | WA 97 Truly great stuff, this medium to full-bodied 2000 exhibits scents of rose petals intertwined with charcuterie, spring flowers, blue and black fruits, and hints of raspberries, cola, and mint oil. This profound, extremely nuanced, powerful, exuberant Pinot Noir boasts terrific definition and personality. 2001 | WS 97 Described as having "incredible richness, density and concentration 2006 | WA 96 It just began to reveal its ultimate potential. Notes of forest floor, plums, black cherries and raspberries intermixed with notions of blueberries and smoked meats are found in this dark plum/ruby/purple-tinged wine. Clos de la Roche-like, it exhibits sweet tannin and impressive depth, but as mentioned above, it has tightened up considerably over the last year and is probably best forgotten for another 1-2 years. 2013 | VIVINO 4.5 The wines are left on the lees after fermentation. No fining, filtering or cold stabilization is done, so the wines may have a fine sediment and occasionally tartaric acid crystals. Rich and opulent with noticeable sweetness reflecting generous alcohol, the wines have a reputation for aging very well. About Winery If you haven’t heard of Helen Turley, or tasted one of her wines, you’ve definitely not been paying close enough attention to the wines coming out of California in the last 10 years. She is arguably one of the most influential winemakers in the business, receiving critical acclaim for almost every wine she touches. Aside from her own boutique winery, Marcassin, which she runs with husband John Wetlaufer, Helen has been the consulting winemaker for some of the best wineries in the country – Colgin, Bryant Family, Martinelli – just to name a few. Marcassin (french for 'young wild boar') is a VERY small winery – in fact it’s so small that the wines have actually been made at the Martinelli winery in Russian River Valley. Located on the Sonoma Coast, the Marcassin vineyard is planted to 50/50 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and is about 10 acres in size. Fruit for the other vineyard designated wines is sourced from other neighboring vineyards. Marcassin will always be a small winery; John & Helen feel the perfect size is 100 barrels, enough for 2,500 cases.Helen’s winemaking philosophy is simple: great vineyards, meticulously farmed, limited yield, long hang time and natural yeast. She approaches every project with these same priorities.

    Plumpjack PlumpJack Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

    6 in stock

2018 | V 95 The warm growing season gave this wine it’s rich and dark character. The nose is filled with black cherry, blackberry, cassis, and fig, which is perfectly complimented by the classic PlumpJack sage and mint. The palate is silky upon entry and opens up to juicy blackberry and black cherry. The balanced acid and well-integrated tannin give this wine energy and length and leads to a beautiful raspberry and spice finish. Blend: 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot About Winery PlumpJack Winery sits squarely in the heart of Napa Valley's renowned Oakville region, surrounded by a 42-acre estate vineyard highly-regarded for the quality of its Cabernet Sauvignon. Both their winery building and their vineyard date back to the 1800s, when winemaking pioneers first took advantage of a unique position on the valley floor. The east side of their vineyard lies along the foothills of the Vaca mountain range and yields grapes with the kind of bold fruit character that comes from well-drained hillside soils. To the west, their estate lies in the Napa River flood zone. Here, their vines take root in rich, deep clay soild, for grapes with softer, more supple varietal character. From their oldest, rockiest section - the "I" Block, where they source their Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve - to more recent plantings, they strive to maintain balanced vines.

Being a British Lord and in Parliament, he was instrumental in much of the early automotive legislation and even gave the future Edward VII his first car ride (as seen in this photo). He was friends with Charles Rolls and Henry Royce, and his assistant served as the model for the Rolls-Royce hood ornament, the Spirit of Ecstasy, which we still see on Rolls-Royce cars today. Silver Ghost derives its name from John Montagu’s favorite car, the 1909 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost. And like its name, the wine itself is filled with layers of richness, culture and authenticity.

Bundle include : 1x 2020 Kongsgaard Chardonnay  1x 2021 Kongsgaard Chardonnay  1x 2022 Kongsgaard Chardonnay    2020 Kongsgaard Chardonnay | 94 V The 2020 Chardonnay (Napa Valley) is exquisite. That's all there is to it. Creamy and rich, yet not at all heavy, the Napa Valley Chardonnay is perhaps a bit understated, but also avoids the edginess of so many other wines in this vintage. Orchard fruit, mint, lemon confit and tangerine oil open first. Pretty floral and tropical accents grace the finish in this classy, polished Chardonnay from John and Alex Kongsgaard. (AG) 2021 Kongsgaard Chardonnay | 97 V The 2021 Chardonnay (Napa Valley) is stellar. Wonderfully refined and airy, the 2021 impresses with its total harmony. It is especially elegant. Whether that is due to the vintage, a tendency to pick on the earlier side these days, or the combination of sites, the 2021 is magnificent, if a bit less showy than it used to be. (AG) 2022 Kongsgaard Chardonnay | 93 V The 2022 Chardonnay (Napa Valley) is typically a blend of Hyde, Hudson, Arcadia and a few others. In 2022, Hudson was not in the blend. Dried lemon peel, tangerine oil, hazelnut and chamomile unfurl in the glass. The drought conditions of the year produced a wine of considerable intensity. Its weight and viscous intensity make it a sort of mini-Judge. The 2022 is very dense and phenolic. (AG)   Kongsgaard Winery Kongsgaard Winery is a boutique, family-owned winery located in the heart of Napa Valley, California. Known for producing small amounts of highly acclaimed, world-class wines, the winery has gained a reputation for its exceptional Chardonnays and Cabernet Sauvignon, which reflect the rich terroir of Napa Valley.

Zeitgeist Zeitgeist Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

    6 in stock

2014 | WA 94 This blend of 99.5% Cabernet and 0.5% Petit Verdot reminds us of berry compote on first smell. It is confident and dense as it coats your palate. Rich mocha flavors and pointed scents of spice fill the center of the wine. The tannins are fine and slightly chewy. This wine will age beautifully for years. About Winery Zeitgeist Cellars is a collaboration between husband and wife, Mark Porembski (winemaker at Anomaly Vineyards and Lost Cellars) and Jennifer Williams (former winemaker at Spottswoode Estate and current winemaker at Arrow&Branch and Ziata). We make the wine ourselves at Behrens Family Winery. In pursuit of fine wine at fair prices, we employ conscientious selection at each step while doing the work ourselves. We’ve committed to a handful of carefully chosen vineyards, sort vigilantly through the fruit at harvest, and bottle only the best barrels. Our goal is to be thoughtful in our approach and simple in our methods. We make each exceptionally small batch of wine ourselves and guide them carefully through fermentation and aging. The results are two beautiful Heritage white varietals and a small stable of excellent Cabernet Sauvignons.
