PRE-ORDER About Winery Château Chasse-Spleen is the leading Moulis estate along with Château Poujeaux.Although it is classified only as a Cru Bourgeois, it regularly outperforms many ofthe Médoc's more renowned classed growths. There are two theories behind thechâteau's rather unusual name: firstly, that, when Lord Byron visited the estate in1821, he remarked `Quel remède pour chasser le spleen`. Secondly, that it isnamed after Baudelaire's poem, Spleen. Chasse-Spleen's wines were always noteworthy, though the quality improveddramatically with its acquisition by the Taillan Group, which also owns ChâteauHaut-Bages-Libéral, in 1976. It was run by Bernadette Villars until she and herhusband were killed in an accident while hiking in the Pyrénées in 1992. Theproperty is now run by her daughter Claire.

It was given to the property by a certain Catherine Conseillan, an influential figure who ran the estate at that time -almost 300 years ago. It was in 1871 that the Nicolas family bought the estate, whose surface area and vineyard plots have remained unchanged since then. Today, it is the turn of the fifth generation of the Nicolas to manage the estate, a demonstration once again of continuity and the attachment of the family to this great growth. Bertrand Nicolas and Jean-Valmy Nicolas are the join managing directors of La Conseillante. Marielle Cazaux is the estate manager.The Nicolas heirs are clearly identified on each bottle by the initials “LN” on the label at the centre of a shield within a silver-edged border whose four corners are sloped. The violet-coloured bottle capsule evokes the characteristic aroma of the wine. These packaging features, first chosen back in 1871 by the Nicolas brothers, remain elegant and yet modern even today.

PRE-ORDER About Winery Château de Charodon, located just outside Beaune in Burgundy, has deep viticultural roots but an unusual trajectory. The estate ceased wine production between 1884 and 2010, despite its long family lineage and prime vineyard land. Its revival came in 2010, led by Louis Vallet, a descendant of the original family, who brought both Burgundian tradition and international winemaking experience to the project. Working alongside his brother Thibault and father Bernard (co-owner of Pierre Bourrée in Gevrey-Chambertin), Louis established Charodon as a dynamic new domaine. He began with just 1,200 bottles in 2010, expanding production more than tenfold by 2021. Farming is organic, winemaking is minimalist with indigenous yeast fermentations, and fruit is sourced through long-term contracts and select purchases. Today, Château de Charodon represents both a rebirth of historic land and a modern, energetic vision for Burgundy winemaking.

Winemaker Notes Dark purple, almost black. On the nose, concentrated scent of cooked berries and plums with hints of cedar wood and smoky notes. Full and dense on the palate with massive ripe tannins and a long finish.The 8.5 hectare winery is planted with 80% Merlot and 10% each Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. It belongs to the Peres family, which owns, among other things, the Top Saint Emillion Château Pavi. The wine is aged for 18-24 months in new barriques. About Winery Purchased in 2001 by Gérard Perse - Château Pavie, Pavie-Decesse, Monbousquet, Bellevue-Mondotte - Clos Lunelles shines with its vision of excellence, anchored to a first-class terroir composed of clay and limestone, in the natural extension of the Saint-Emilion limestone plateau. With state-of-the-art viticulture and ambitious technical means, the wines are a perfect example of concentrated yet elegant Bordeaux. Born in Algeria, Guy married into the Vadey family—who had managed the domaine after Albert Rameau and Gilbert Vadey—and began working the vineyards, continuing the family’s Burgundian tradition. For decades, the grapes were sold to négociants, but in 2004 Guy’s son Jérôme returned from a career as a trumpeter in the Republican Guard to take over, marking the fifth generation of stewardship. PRE-ORDER About Winery Bouchard Père et Fils, one of Burgundy’s oldest and most prestigious wine houses, was founded in 1731 in Beaune by Michel Bouchard, originally a cloth merchant who soon turned to wine trading. His son Joseph began acquiring vineyards in 1746, and by 1785 the firm adopted the name “Bouchard Père et Fils.” Over the centuries, the domaine expanded to become one of Burgundy’s largest landholders, now owning about 130 hectares, including 12 hectares of Grand Cru and 74 hectares of Premier Cru. In 1820, the family purchased the historic Château de Beaune, whose underground cellars still serve as an exceptional aging site.
