Claude Dugat La Gibryotte Bourgogne Rouge

Description

Tasting Notes

The 2022 La Gibryotte Bourgogne Rouge opens with aromas of strawberry, raspberry, and cherry, accented by floral notes and earthy hints of mushroom and ash. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, vibrant, and precise, with firm tannins, bright acidity, and a youthful austerity that gives structure. Subtle spice and mineral undertones add depth, while the finish is mouthwatering and persistent.

About Winery

Domaine Claude Dugat is located in Gevrey-Chambertin, Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, and has been in the Dugat family since the 19th century. Claude’s father, Maurice, purchased the historic Grange des Dîmes in 1955, converting it into a winery. Claude Dugat established the domaine in its modern form in 1991, quickly gaining cult status for his concentrated yet elegant Pinot Noirs. Today, the estate farms about 6 hectares, including prestigious sites like Lavaux Saint-Jacques, Charmes-Chambertin, and Griottes-Chambertin. Since 2015, Claude’s children—Bertrand, Laetitia, and Jeanne—have taken over, shifting toward organic and biodynamic farming and more restrained cellar practices, emphasizing purity, terroir, and finesse. The domaine remains small and highly sought after, producing wines that balance richness with precision.
