About Winery

The Glantenay family established their domaine in Volnay in 1893, laying the foundation for what would become Domaine Georges Glantenay. Over successive generations, the estate expanded its vineyard holdings, including parcels in Volnay, Pommard, Chambolle-Musigny, Monthélie, and Meursault, with some Chambolle vines inherited from the siblings’ grandmother. Georges Glantenay carried the domaine forward before passing it to his son Pierre, who managed the estate until 2013. That year, Pierre’s children, Guillaume and Sarah, representing the fifth generation, assumed leadership—Guillaume overseeing winemaking and Sarah managing operations. Today, the domaine spans about 10 hectares, farmed with lutte raisonnée practices that avoid pesticides and herbicides, emphasizing sustainability and respect for terroir. Their wines, crafted with careful hand-harvesting, sorting, and gentle maceration, are known for finesse, purity, and balance, reflecting both the family’s heritage and a modern commitment to environmentally conscious viticulture.
