The 2017 Dominique Lafon Beaune 1er Cru Les Grèves is an elegant and approachable expression of Pinot Noir that reflects Dominique Lafon's personal style of prioritizing "vibrant fruit and saline energy" over heavy extraction. During a 2020 tasting, Lafon himself described the vintage as "amazing and elegant," noting a bouquet filled with fresh cherries and strawberries supported by remarkably soft tannins.
About Winery
Dominique Lafon is a pioneering Burgundy winemaker who revolutionized his family estate, Domaine des Comtes Lafon in Meursault, starting in 1984 by reclaiming vineyards from sharecroppers and adopting biodynamic farming. He launched his own label, SAS Dominique Lafon, in 2008, focusing on high-tension, mineral-driven Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Côte de Beaune.
