    12 in stock

Winemaker Notes The nose shows some blackcurrant, vanilla and hint of wood. On the palate, the typical nice freshness of Château Ferrière and some power. The wine has great potential and will need time to reveal itself.  About Winery Gabriel Ferriere, a well-known broker in Bordeaux in the 18th century was the founder of this estate. Chateau Ferriere was classified a third growth in 1855. The Villars family bought the vineyards and the chateau in 1988 and took over the viticulture and winemaking. With its 10 hectares, Chateau Ferriere is one of the smallest classified growths. The vineyard is maily located in Margaux, and the soil consists of very deep gravel on limestone marl. The size of the vineyard, combined with its beautiful terroir, make Chateau Ferriere a rare and highly-valued wine. Claire Villars Luton is responsible for the revival of this estate. Year after year, she has done her best to bring out the unique terror of Chateau Ferriere in the wine, to restore the vineyard to its original splendor, and to make it fully worth of its prestigious classification.

PRE-ORDER Winemaker Notes 2017, Chateau Sira's best vintage in 7 since 1947. Ah, the years in 7! It seems that you have to go back to 1947 to have a very good year. As with the fruit trees, the vine, spared of the frosts of April 27th and 28th, was abundant and beautiful, presenting itself at the beginning of September with very beautiful, perfectly homogeneous fruit. About Winery Château Siran, with its unique vineyard on a plateau of siliceous gravel, shared with three Grands Crus Classés, produces gourmet wines that reflect the Miailhe family's passion for this estate since 1859. The 25-hectare vineyard in the Margaux appellation benefits from a flourishing 88-hectare ecosystem of woods, parks, ponds, orchards and meadows, where biodiversity is carefully monitored. Mindful of its impact on the environment, the Siran team has favored a reasoned approach since 2000 and, since 2018, several plots have been farmed organically. This family-owned and managed vineyard welcomes visitors all year round, and every day from May to September, and offers guided tours of the vineyard, winemaking vat room and ageing cellar, as well as the ‘Chai des Collections’, which houses over 300 works of wine-related art. The estate combines historic charm with modern innovation, making it a must-see destination for wine lovers.

  • 2019 Chateau Malescot St. Exupery - 1976 WINEHOURS 2019 Chateau Malescot St. Exupery - 1976 WINEHOURS

Chateau Malescot 2019 Chateau Malescot St. Exupery

    12 in stock

PRE-ORDER Winemaker Notes A delicate Malescot which makes it a gourmet wine despite a tight tannic structure. We will have to wait for this vintage to fully express the freshness of its cabernets supported by a body full of merlots. As for the Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, they are like salt and pepper which densify and reveal this wine.  About Winery The estate already produced wine in 1608. In 1697, it was sold by Louise Simon Ecoisses Malescot, consul of King Louis XIV at the Parliament of Bordeaux. He gave his name to the property, and his descendants took good care of Malescot and added a large dwelling house and numerous outbuildings, but after the revolution, the property was divided several times between different descendants and sold to different buyers before becoming the property of Count Jean-Baptiste Saint-Exupéry in 1827 who added his name to that of Malescot. In 1855 Chateau Malescot Saint Exupéry was ranked third grand cru before being sold to a banker from Bordeaux named Fourcade, who renovated the winery and enlarged the vineyard. The chateau passed again through the hands of various owners including Mr. Boissac who built the current castle in 1885 but sold it again in 1901. Many owners succeeded again, and the estate slowly declined until, on 1st June 1955, Paul and Roger Zuger bought it with only seven hectares of vines left. After nearly 30 years of sustained efforts and attention, the blason of Malescot regained its rank and its desire to go ever higher. Today, the son of Roger, Jean-Luc Zuger, is at the head of the estate that was extended to 23.5 hectares, and he continues the work begun by his grandfather and his father.

  • 2020 Chateau Rauzan Segla - 1976 WINEHOURS 2020 Chateau Rauzan Segla - 1976 WINEHOURS

Chateau Rauzan Segla 2020 Chateau Rauzan Segla

    12 in stock

PRE-ORDER Winemaker Notes The 2020 Chateau Rauzan Segla is a highly-rated Bordeaux red blend, known for its elegant and complex flavor profile. It's described as a deep purple-black color with aromas of blackcurrant, plum, chocolate, licorice, smoke, and incense. The palate features a medium to full-bodied richness, with vibrant fruit, refined tannins, and a long finish.  About Winery The wines here have delighted many well-know figures, most famously Thomas Jefferson who came across this wine during his visit to the vineyards of Bordeaux, placing an order for several cases of it. He thus became a fervent admirer or Rauzan-Segla wines. Some decades later, the 1855 Classification ranked Chateau Rauzan-Segla as a Second Growth. The current chateau was built in 1903, designed by architect Louis Garros, who drew inspiriation from the original Perigord-style buildings in the the chateau, as well as G. LeBreton who designed the park and green spaces. Then time went by and the chateau gradually fell into a slumber. Then, CHANEL purchased Chateau Rauzan-Ségla in April 1994 and immediately started a full renovation programme. The vineyard has been drained – a 15-kilometer network is now in place, 2 parcels of Petit Verdot were planted and 3 hectares of vines were grafted over with Merlot. Today, 51 hectares are in production for an average total production of 200 000 bottles – Chateau Rauzan- Ségla and its second wine Ségla. The winery has been adapted and large vats progressively replaced by smaller capacities – matching the parcels' sizes. From the 2004 picking on, grapes will be sorted on two 10-meter long vibrating tables, so that each single berry is checked before entering the vats. Maturation cellars have been completely renovated and a new room built for the bottling-labelling machines – making Chateau Rauzan-Ségla fully independent for the entire production process.

PRE-ORDER Winemaker Notes Subtle alliance of Men and Terroir. A wet, mild winter and spring followed by a hot, dry summer have given Margaux another great vintage, making five out of the last six harvests special. Rich and opulent Merlots, sparse and precise Cabernets Sauvignon and perfectly ripe Petits Verdot gave us a wine with fruit and freshness, with melted tannins, bringing suave and plushness to the wine. To be drunk young or aged, it will offer the drinker a real pleasure, as only Margaux knows how to do in great vintages. In keeping with family tradition, each label bears a different theme: the drawing by the Franco-Chilean artist 'Ode à la vie' for the 2020 vintage evokes the joie de vivre rediscovered after the pandemic. About Winery Château Siran, with its unique vineyard on a plateau of siliceous gravel, shared with three Grands Crus Classés, produces gourmet wines that reflect the Miailhe family's passion for this estate since 1859.
