About Winery
The story of Domaine Georges Roumier begins in 1924, when Georges Roumier married Geneviève Quanquin and took charge of her family’s vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny. Georges established the domaine’s reputation as a meticulous artisan, and in 1945 he pioneered estate bottling, which elevated the domaine’s profile in Burgundy and beyond. After Georges’s death in 1965, his son Jean-Marie continued the work, expanding holdings and refining the estate’s style. In 1990, Georges’s grandson Christophe Roumier assumed leadership, bringing a modern sensibility while preserving the domaine’s traditional philosophy of low yields, precise vineyard care, and restrained winemaking. Today, Domaine Georges Roumier owns parcels in some of Burgundy’s most celebrated terroirs, including Bonnes Mares, Musigny, Les Amoureuses, and Clos de Bèze, producing wines renowned for their elegance, purity, and longevity. The estate remains a benchmark in the Côte de Nuits, embodying nearly a century of family stewardship and uncompromising quality.
