Tasting Notes
The Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers Premier Cru from Domaine Henri Magnien opens with aromas of raspberry, cherry, and red currant, accented by violet, rose petal, and subtle spice. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with silky tannins and lively acidity that frame red fruit purity alongside earthy notes of mushroom, minerals, and clove. Oak aging adds hints of cigar box and toast, while the finish is long, balanced, and structured. The wine shows youthful energy but develops greater depth and finesse with age.
About Winery
Domaine Henri Magnien is a historic Burgundy estate in Gevrey-Chambertin, with roots dating back to the 1600s. Officially founded in 1987 by Henri Magnien, it is now run by Charles Magnien, the 12th generation of the family, who has modernized the winery while preserving its heritage. The domaine is renowned for its old vines, including a unique Pinot Noir clone called “Pinot Magnien,” which produces concentrated, age-worthy wines.
