About Winery
Domaine Georges Roumier, based in Chambolle-Musigny, Burgundy, was founded in 1924 when Georges Roumier married Geneviève Quanquin, whose dowry included vineyards that became the foundation of the estate. Georges began bottling under the domaine’s own label in 1945, a move that elevated its reputation. His son Jean-Marie later expanded the holdings, and in the 1980s, Jean-Marie’s son Christophe Roumier joined after studying oenology. Christophe brought a modern sensibility while preserving the domaine’s traditional style, emphasizing meticulous vineyard work and restrained winemaking to highlight terroir. Today, Domaine Georges Roumier is considered one of Burgundy’s most prestigious producers, with holdings in Chambolle-Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, and Musigny, and Christophe is widely respected for crafting wines of purity, elegance, and longevity.
