About Winery
Domaine de Montille traces its origins back to the 1730s, but its modern chapter began in 1947 when Hubert de Montille inherited just a few hectares in Volnay and Pommard after much of the family’s Côte de Nuits holdings had been sold off. A lawyer by profession, Hubert revitalized the estate with a focus on restrained, terroir-driven wines, gradually expanding its vineyard holdings. His children, Etienne and Alix, later joined, with Etienne taking over management in 1995 and further developing the domaine, including acquiring Château de Puligny-Montrachet in 2012. Today, Domaine de Montille is recognized as one of Burgundy’s leading estates, balancing centuries of tradition with modern precision and sustainability.
