Charles Van Canneyt is a highly regarded Burgundian winemaker who took over Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat in Vosne-Romanée from his grandfather Alain Hudelot in 2008. The domaine, founded in 1962, quickly rose under his leadership to become one of the most sought-after estates in the Côte de Nuits, known for its refined and terroir-driven wines. In 2012, Van Canneyt launched his own négoce label, sourcing grapes from trusted growers in top Burgundy sites, including grands crus like Chambertin and Griotte-Chambertin. His négociant wines mirror the philosophy of his domaine work: gentle extraction, thoughtful use of oak, and a focus on elegance and typicity. Today, Charles Van Canneyt is celebrated as both the guardian of Hudelot-Noëllat’s legacy and the creator of his own distinctive imprint on Burgundy, producing wines that balance tradition with modern precision.
