Winemaker Notes
It is one of the more dramatic wines in Barthod's range, bursting with notes of raspberry coulis, dried flowers, peony, and wintergreen. Burghound's Allen Meadows describes the nose as perfumed and "very pretty," featuring Maraschino cherry and violet, while the palate is "caressing but punchy" with a stony, complex finish shaped by fine-grained tannins.
About Winery
Domaine Ghislaine Barthod, a prestigious Burgundy producer in Chambolle-Musigny, was founded in the late 1920s as Barthod-Noëllat. Following Gaston Barthod’s takeover in the 1950s, his daughter Ghislaine assumed control in 1999. Known for elegant, age-worthy Pinot Noirs, the estate manages roughly 6-7 hectares of vineyards with 11 different Premier Cru bottlings.
