About Winery
Domaine Hoffmann-Jayer, based in Magny-lès-Villers between Beaune and Nuits-Saint-Georges, has its roots in the Jayer-Gilles estate founded in 1982 by Gilles Jayer, a descendant of the Jayer family of Vosne-Romanée. The domaine itself originated earlier as a mixed farm established by Robert Jayer and his wife Paulette in the 1950s, which shifted focus to viticulture in 1970. Gilles Jayer took over in 1998, expanding and refining the estate’s reputation. In 2017, Swiss entrepreneur André Hoffmann partnered with Gilles, creating Domaine Hoffmann-Jayer. Sadly, Gilles passed away in 2018, but the domaine continues under Hoffmann’s stewardship, blending Burgundian tradition with modern innovation, and producing wines from prestigious appellations such as Hautes-Côtes de Nuits and Echézeaux.
