Description

Winemaker Notes

The 2017 Heitz Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is described as having intense black fruit, cassis, graphite, and earthy aromas. On the palate, it's full-bodied with well-structured tannins balanced by lively acidity. Flavors include black cherry, blackberry, and espresso, complemented by hints of licorice, dark chocolate, and cedar. The wine is known for its elegant and refined character, with a long and complex finish.

About Winery

Heitz Cellar, founded in 1961 by Joe and Alice Heitz, is a historic Napa Valley winery known for its pioneering role in single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon production. Joe Heitz, mentored by André Tchelistcheff, helped elevate Napa's reputation and was the first to label a wine with a single vineyard name: Martha's Vineyard. In 2018, the Heitz family sold the winery to Gaylon Lawrence, marking a new chapter for the estate.
