About Winery

Pierre Mayeul is a young but ambitious Burgundy wine house, founded in 2016 by three seasoned experts—Ludivine Griveau, Matthieu Bouchard, and Frédéric Hirault—who combined their deep roots in Burgundian tradition with modern vision. The trio brings together exceptional pedigrees: Griveau is the first female winemaker in the 160-year history of the Hospices de Beaune, Bouchard hails from the historic Bouchard Père et Fils family, and Hirault previously led Château de Corton. Their collaboration began at Château de Corton, and Pierre Mayeul now produces wines from both their own vineyards and those they oversee, crafting cuvées that highlight Burgundy’s mosaic of terroirs. Based in Beaune, they vinify with precision, age wines carefully before bottling, and host tastings in 17th-century cellars, positioning themselves as a forward-looking yet tradition-rooted Burgundy label.
