About Winery

Laurent-Perrier, officially founded in 1812 by André-Michel Pierlot in the Grand Cru village of Tours-sur-Marne, began as a Champagne wine merchant on plots called Les Plaisances and La Tour Glorieux; after Pierlot’s son Alphonse died without heirs, the estate passed to cellar master Eugène Laurent, whose widow Mathilde-Émilie Perrier took over in 1887, combining their names to create “Veuve Laurent-Perrier” and introducing innovations like the sugar-free “Grand Vin Sans Sucre” in 1889; later generations, including Eugénie-Hortense Laurent, guided the house until it grew into one of Champagne’s most renowned producers, now part of the Laurent-Perrier Group alongside Salon, De Castellane, and Delamotte, with a global reputation for elegance and innovation.
