Maison Nicolas Potel was founded in 1997 in Nuits-Saint-Georges by Nicolas Potel following the death of his father, legendary winemaker Gérard Potel of Domaine de la Pousse d'Or. It quickly became a successful négociant firm focusing on high-quality, organic Burgundian wines. After selling the brand in 2004, Nicolas later established Domaine de Bellene.
