About Winery
Domaine René et Louis Lequin is one of Burgundy’s oldest family-run estates, with roots in Santenay dating back to the early 1600s. The Lequin family began as farmers in 1604, purchased their first vineyard parcel “Les Clos Genet” in 1669, and gradually expanded holdings over centuries. In 1852, Louis-Isidore Lequin formally established the estate, building the family house and enlarging vineyard holdings with income from local silica mines. Today, Domaine Louis Lequin cultivates about 7 hectares across prestigious terroirs in the Côte d’Or—including Santenay, Corton, Corton-Charlemagne, Pommard, and Bâtard-Montrachet—continuing a tradition of authenticity and terroir-driven winemaking that spans more than four centuries.
