About Winery
Jean-Yves Bizot revived his family’s small Vosne-Romanée domaine in 1995, transforming it into one of Burgundy’s most admired artisanal wineries. His grandfather had farmed the vineyards part-time, while his father, a pediatrician, rented them out rather than making wine. Dissatisfied with the style of Burgundy wines from the 1970s and 1980s, Bizot looked back to earlier generations for inspiration, emphasizing purity, terroir expression, and minimal intervention. Today, Domaine Bizot spans just 3.5 hectares, yet produces highly sought-after Pinot Noir noted for its subtlety, emotion, and experimental spirit, reflecting Bizot’s instinct-driven approach rather than adherence to convention.
