PRE-ORDER About Winery Château de Fargues is a historic and prestigious wine estate located in the Sauternes appellation of Bordeaux, France, renowned for its luxurious sweet white wines. Founded in 1306 by Raymond Guilheim de Fargues.In 1472, the estate was acquired by the Lur Saluces family, who have maintained ownership ever since—over 500 years of continuous family stewardship. The Lur Saluces family is also famously associated with Château d’Yquem, the only Premier Cru Supérieur in the 1855 Sauternes classification.Although the estate has existed for centuries, it only began producing sweet Sauternes wine in 1943, with the first vintage released in 1947 due to World War II.
